What are Temporary Disability Benefits

Difference Between Temporary Partial and Temporary Total Disability
If an injured worker is eligible for temporary disability benefits, one may expect to receive one of two kinds of temporary benefits: temporary partial or temporary total disability benefits. The type of temporary disability benefit depends on the ability to return to work. If a doctor gives the opinion that an injured worker is unable to perform job functions while recovering, then the worker will likely receive temporary total disability payments, up to a maximum number of weeks determined by California statute. On the other hand, if the worker can do some work while recovering and the employer is able to accommodate work restrictions with reduced hours or a change in job duties at lower pay, the worker may receive temporary partial disability benefits.
